If you’re not sure what to ask for at your next party, then Gift-It-Forward could be the alternative you’re looking for. Gift-It-Forward is a new online platform in town that helps you plan for socially responsible and environmentally friendly parties. This social enterprise is started by a mother who knows first-hand about the perpetual hassles of planning birthday parties, shopping for gifts, and getting piles of unwanted or duplicate gifts.
What makes this site unique, however, is that it also helps the host get the gift they really want while supporting a charity. Instead of guests bringing individual gifts to a party, partygoers can now give a monetary gift through the website’s secure system. Gift-It-Forward will then pool the contributions and send the host their share to buy the child’s chosen gift. A portion of the money will also get sent to their selected charity as a donation.
