Ideas On Ways To Celebrate Valentine’s Day With The Kids In Singapore

Love Is In The Air

2019 Feb 14

This year, Valentine’s Day falls on Sunday! Which means, many families will be celebrating the day of love as a family. Little Steps has rounded up a list of fun activities for you and your clan to do, experience, and enjoy together. Happy Valentine’s Day!

  • Like Mary Poppins said ”Let’s go fly a kite!” Pack up a picnic full of delicious goodies and either make your own or take your kite along for an afternoon of fun at Marina Barrage. You’ll see plenty of colorful kites decorating the sky. Once you’ve finished take a walk along the river in the afternoon sun.

  • Take the family to see a movie this Valentine’s Day. Golden Village have a special offer on at the moment where two children can go for free with two paying adults! If you have time why not see two movies!! Order in the popcorn, stock up on candy and treats and settle in for a couple of hours of quiet entertainment the whole family will enjoy.

  • This day-tripper is an easy one and packed with lots of nature fun for the whole family (babies included)! The island itself is protected from redevelopment, creating a haven for eco-loving families and adventure seekers. Prepare to feast your eyes on Singapore in the 1960's and explore the time warped island for the kiddos. Pack up some sandwiches and eat them at the campsite, watch the local birds and monkeys playing around you.

  • Have an extra long reading time before bed with some of these classics, perfect for a day of love. Love from the very hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, Llama Llama I love you by Anna Dewdney, Pete the Cat: Valentine’s Day is cool by James Dean, Happy Valentine's Day, Curious George by N. Di Angelo, The Biggest Valentine Ever by Steven Kroll.

  • Get a couple of families together and hire a boat to one of the many small islands. Pack up some food, drinks, & games and have a wonderful afternoon on your very own island. Boats are cheap to hire and you leave from the Marina Ferry Terminal. All bookings must be made in advance.

  • Make breakfast in bed for the family to enjoy. Plenty of buttery toast and jam, glasses of orange juice, coffee for Mom and Dad and lots of morning snuggles amongst the crumbs! This is a perfect time to catch up on everyone’s crazy busy weeks too. You never know you might all fall back to sleep for a few minutes! If you need to order in McDonald's can deliver brekkie to you.
