Located in Lantau South Country Park near Lai Chi Yuen, Hong Kong’s first mountain biking trail is now open in Mui Wo! Also the biggest in Asia, the Mountain Bike Practice Ground spans a whopping 9 kilometers of mountain bike trails, set amongst 4.5 hectares of lush greenery. The new facilities of the Practice Ground were designed in accordance with the International Mountain Bicycling Association, and include bike trails, technical obstacles such as jumps, a rock garden, a skinny (narrow feature you can ride), a tot track and pump track.
The Practice Ground is open to all experience levels, and trails are clearly marked by difficulty level. Kids under 12 are advised to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Facilities at the Practice Ground include toilet and washroom facilities, a first aid kiosk, shelter, and water filling station. There are no bike rental facilities on location, so riders are advised to bring their own (as well as necessary safety equipment) with them. The cycle rental shops in Mui Wo are the closest.
The Practice Ground is completely free of charge and no ticket or booking is required. The trail is open all year round and there are no opening hours. For safety reasons, riding in the daytime is advised. For more information please click here.
