Part of the HKFC Junior Soccer Programme, HKFC Crusaders is a football coaching programme aimed at players with special needs. The sessions offer players a safe and fun environment in which to enjoy and improve at the game, with coaching from Level 1 and Level 2-qualified coaches as well as other volunteers.
Sessions are comprised of a short warm-up with a football and some skills development, followed by a competitive coached match. The programme help to enhance motor skills and fitness and boots players' self-esteem and social skills.
Coaching sessions take place year-round on a Monday at 6pm and 7pm and are suitable for players with special needs and conditions between the ages of 7 and 40, male and female and of any playing ability.
A selected squad play as the HKFC Crusaders in friendly competitive matches against other special needs clubs, including the Down Syndrome Association of Hong Kong (DSA Dragons).
