Beyond Physio: The Best Chiropractors & Sports Therapists In Hong Kong

Where To Go For Back Pain, Posture & Sports Injuries

Updated: October 13, 2026

Top Sports Therapists & Chiropractors In Hong Kong

Whether it’s a twisted ankle on a hiking trail, back pain from long hours at a desk or aches during pregnancy, the right specialist can help you recover faster. Chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists and sports therapists all treat muscle, joint and spine problems. They mostly use hands-on treatment and exercise rather than surgery or medication.

So which one should you see? Chiropractors focus on the spine and nervous system. They use spinal adjustments to treat back pain, neck pain and sciatica. Osteopaths use hands-on treatment that looks at how the whole body works together. Physiotherapists combine hands-on therapy with exercise-based rehab, and many people see one after a sports injury or surgery. In Hong Kong, chiropractors and physiotherapists must be registered by law. Osteopathy isn’t regulated, so check where your osteopath trained.

We’ve picked trusted clinics across Hong Kong, from Central and Quarry Bay to Wong Chuk Hang and Tsim Sha Tsui. They include well-known names such as OT&P BodyWorX, Osteopathic Centre Hong Kong, SportsPerformance Physiotherapy and Rin Spine Clinic. Looking for a physio? See our guide to the best physiotherapy in Hong Kong.

If you’re in severe pain, can’t put weight on a limb or think you’ve broken a bone, see a doctor or go to A&E first.

What’s the difference between a sports therapist and a chiropractor in Hong Kong?

Sports therapists and physiotherapists focus on movement assessment, exercise plans and recovery from sports or post-surgery injuries. Chiropractors centre on spinal alignment and joint function, often for back, neck or posture pain. Clinics such as Physio Central, Hong Kong Sports Clinic, Joint Dynamics and Rin Spine Clinic combine both approaches. See the full directory in the Little Steps sports therapists and chiropractors guide.

Where can I find a pediatric physiotherapist for my child?

Physio Central offers dedicated pediatric physiotherapy for children from infancy to teens, covering developmental issues, posture and sports injuries. Joint Dynamics provides osteopathy suitable for all ages, including newborns and school-age kids. Start with a clinic that lists pediatric or youth services rather than a general adult sports clinic.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a sports therapist or chiropractor?

Most private clinics let you book directly. Chiropractors are usually available without a referral. For physiotherapy, some insurers still ask for a GP letter to reimburse sessions, so check your policy first. Public hospital physiotherapy generally requires a doctor’s referral and involves longer waits.

Can osteopaths or chiropractors treat pregnant women or newborns?

Yes. Joint Dynamics specialises in osteopathy for all ages, including pregnant women and newborns. Physio Central also covers women’s health and pediatric physiotherapy. Always confirm the practitioner has specific training for pregnancy or infant care before booking.

How much does a sports physiotherapy session cost in Hong Kong?

Private clinic sessions typically run HK$700 to HK$2,500 for 40–60 minutes, depending on the therapist’s experience and whether shockwave or other modalities are included. Packages are often cheaper. Ask about insurance receipts when you book.
