If your family loved the interactive magic of teamLab, the Van Gogh immersive, or last year’s “Naked Flowers” exhibition in Tsim Sha Tsui, this is an absolute must-visit!
This innovative show is the first in-gallery multimedia exhibition jointly organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and Beijing’s Palace Museum. It brings to life the intricate patterns found in Chinese architecture, ceramics, and embroidered textiles, reimagined with cutting-edge digital artistry.
Step into seven immersive spaces where light, shadow, and interactive installations transform ancient motifs into a vibrant, contemporary visual feast. Kids and adults alike can watch patterns bloom beneath their feet, gaze up at kaleidoscopic digital ceilings, and even create their own swimming fish and soaring birds, blending tradition with creativity.
Beyond the visual spectacle, “The Ways in Patterns” is designed to spark curiosity about Chinese culture and craftsmanship. It’s a fantastic way for children and parents to experience heritage in a fresh, playful format and deepen their appreciation for the stories behind these beautiful designs. The exhibition is included with a general admission ticket, making it a great value family outing in West Kowloon’s cultural heart.
