Monkeys here, monkeys there, monkeys everywhere! Located in the middle of Ubud under a dense canopy of green foliage lies a brood of over 600 long-tailed Macaque monkeys all looking to have a good time. You will find monkeys swinging, dancing, feeding their little baby monkeys, and relaxing in the shade.
The picturesque forest is beautifully maintained with charming cobblestone paths covered with green moss. It’s teeming with hanging vines and centuries old trees whose roots literally climb out of the ground as if reaching to the sky. As if that isn’t enough, deep within the sanctuary is the Pura Dalem, Temple of the Dead. The forest is about as atmospheric as it gets!
Get up close and personal with wild monkeys, and feed them...if you dare!
Anyone looking for laughs and giggles and is not afraid of monkeys!
Monkey Alerts:
* If you have anything on your body that isn't secure (hat, iPhone, sunglasses, or water bottle), the little guys will definitely try to take it from you. Make sure and leave these items in the car or hidden in a large secure bag.
* Bananas are sold outside the forest. While they can be fun to buy and feed the furry guys, you should be careful with little kids as the monkeys are fast and feisty. When in doubt, go banana-free and stay your distance!
