WHERE TO SHOP IN LIJIANG AND AROUND LIJIANG: Day Trip To Dayan And Shuhe
The old town of Lijiang, a UNESCO world heritage site since 1997, offers picture-perfect moments and plenty of shopping opportunities. Be prepared as there are loads of mainland tourists. For a more cozy experience, visit the cobble-stoned town of Shuhe. Stroll the tiny streets, visit the Embroidery Museum, shop local handicrafts, and sip the famous coffee. THINGS TO DO IN LIJIANG - DAY TRIP: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Visit the renowned outdoor musical Impression Lijiang: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, by award-winning film director Zhang Yimou and producer of the ceremonies at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Kids will be enthralled with hundreds of horses circling their seats, astonishing sounds, and a spectacular backdrop. Post-performance, take a gondola ride up to the top of the mountain - it's high altitude, so be smart if you have wee-ones in tow!

THINGS TO DO IN LIJIANG - DAY TRIP: Tiger Leaping Gorge
The drive from Lijiang to the Tiger Leaping Gorge is stunning! Chinese architecture, villages, mountains and valleys in full speed…snap, snap, snap. There are many ways to conquer a visit to the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Arrange for a hike (from mild to very difficult) or opt to drive to the top and walk the stairs down (an easier option with littlies). Prepare for awe-dropping views and the power of nature.Tiger Leaping Gorge, take a car or taxi from Lijiang to Tiger Leaping Gorge (1.5 – 3 hours). Bring carriers for babies if you are walking down…this is not a stroller-friendly adventure!
