For parents with young children who love the delicious thrill of discovering interesting, beautifully illustrated picture books for bedtime stories, then a trip to The Museum of Picture Book Art at GMBB in Kuala Lumpur ought to be high on your list. This creative space collects, curates, and sells picture books as well as art, with a particular focus on works from Asia.
The “museum” section of the store features old editions of children’s books such as a hardcover of Haji’s Book of Malayan Nursery Rhymes published in 1947. If you’re keen to introduce classic Malaysian tales to your little bub or perhaps send a picture book as a gift, this is just the place to discover fun, lovely picture books with a local flavor.
It's certainly not easy getting hold of Malaysian picture books, so this space certainly makes things a breeze for parents looking for some localized work for their own kids or as a gift.
Families with toddlers and juniors learning to read.
The Museum also hosts art and creative workshops so keep an eye on their Facebook page for the latest event.
Opening hours are from 11am to 6pm daily.
