Formula 1 and the FIA have confirmed exciting news for race fans: Malaysia will host the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the iconic Sepang International Circuit from October 2–4, 2026.
The event slots in between the Azerbaijan and Singapore Grands Prix and keeps the full 2026 calendar intact. Final agreements and World Motor Sport Council approval are still pending, but the deal between Formula 1, the FIA, and the governments of Bahrain and Malaysia ensures the race goes ahead.
Sepang first appeared on the F1 calendar in 1999 and quickly became a fan favourite for its challenging layout, passionate crowds, and famously unpredictable tropical weather. The last Formula 1 race held there was in 2017, when Max Verstappen took the win.
This special one-off Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia gives families a rare chance to experience Formula 1 at a classic venue while enjoying the warmth and hospitality of Southeast Asia.
Stay tuned for ticket release dates and official visitor guides from Formula 1 and Sepang International Circuit.
