The much-anticipated Eastern Section of the East Coast Boardwalk in North Point is now officially open, completing a stunning 13-kilometer-long harbourfront promenade stretching from Kennedy Town to Shau Kei Wan. This seamless coastal pathway is perfect for family outings, jogging, cycling, and leisurely strolls, creating a vibrant new space for Hong Kong Island residents and visitors alike.
The newly opened section spans 2.2 kilometers under the Island Eastern Corridor and is designed with families and outdoor enthusiasts in mind. Just like its Western counterpart, this pet-friendly pathway is open 24/7 (except for the experiential glass observatory deck, which operates from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
Highlights of the Eastern Section include:
This family-friendly boardwalk offers an ideal shared space for walking, jogging, scootering, or simply soaking in the harbor views. With five accessible entry points—two near North Point MTR Station and three near Quarry Bay MTR Station—you’ll have no trouble finding your way to this urban oasis.
Grab your scooters or bikes, leash up your pets, and head out to explore this incredible new addition to Hong Kong’s harborfront.
We love the big open spaces - this one is wave-themed to reflect the harbor surroundings.
Kids, runners, cyclists!
Accessing the newly opened Eastern Section of the East Coast Boardwalk is easy, with five convenient entry points located from west to east:
