Basal Island in Sai Kung is one of Hong Kong’s hidden gems thanks to its uncharted nature, greenery and caves.
Basalt Island is a geo park and an uninhibited island with practically no residents but plenty of untouched beauty. Spend the day exploring the place, swimming in bright blue waters, and marveling at the mountainous rocks. Another great option is to snorkel! However, the top things to do include visiting the Sea Palace or the Wang Chau Kok Caves, and the 1948 Memorial Site.
Your best bet for transport there is with a charted speedboat from Sai Kung Public Pier. It is also possible to hire a private boat in advance.
