Calling all visionary educators, researchers, and organizations in Hong Kong! Here’s an exciting opportunity for you to showcase your pioneering initiatives in early childhood education (ages 0 to 8 years old) and stand a chance to win a significant cash prize for your school. The Khalifa International Award for Early Learning 2024 (KIAEL) has launched its second edition, extending an invitation to educational trailblazers from around the globe.
The KIAEL is a prestigious international education award established in the United Arab Emirates. Its primary objective is to elevate the educational sector within the UAE and across the world by recognizing and celebrating the exceptional contributions of educators in diverse areas of teaching and specialized education.
With a significant prize pool of US$200,000, the KIAEL aims to acknowledge and celebrate outstanding contributions that make a profound impact on the field of early learning. After the tremendous success of its inaugural edition in 2022-2023, which attracted over 300 submissions from 61 countries, the KIAEL is now poised to continue its legacy in supporting early childhood educators who make a difference.
In the 2023 edition, four winners emerged from the competitive pool of entries, including South Africa’s Data Drive2030, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Morocco’s Zakoura Foundation, and Professor Laura Justice from the USA. The winners were recognized for their groundbreaking research papers, innovative programs, and pioneering teaching methodologies.
The KIAEL 2024 features two prominent categories: “Best Programs, Curricula, Teaching Methodologies, and Practices” which include the best initiatives in early learning care and education and their impact on the children and communities served, and “Best Research & Studies” covering best research practices that support scientific enrichment and development of the education and care of young children. Each category will have two winners selected by a distinguished panel of academics who will evaluate submissions based on criteria such as innovativeness, importance, impact, methodological rigor, and feasibility/sustainability.
Passionate individuals, teams, or organizations in Hong Kong with a dedication to early childhood education are encouraged to submit their entries before January 12th, 2024. Entries should not exceed ten pages and must be accompanied by a concise abstract of no more than 300 words, outlining the essence of the program or research and its alignment with the award’s criteria. The two chosen winners in each category will receive an impressive cash prize of USD 50,000 each.
