In Hong Kong, the little tykes can start scrumming starting at age 4! As one of Hong Kong's favorite sports, the whole family can get involved in the fun from coaching to cheering. Kids learn all about teamwork, leadership, and the rules of the game. The season runs from October through March.
There are seven age groupings for Mini Rugby starting at U6 (4-year old) to U12 (12-year olds). Teams are mixed boys and girls. Plan to commit to the rugby fun every Sunday morning during the season. Have no fear, mini rugby is all about safe fun, so your little gals and guys will keep it tidy on the field. Safe tackling does not start until U10. Sports4Kids offers Rugby classes for kids from 18 months - 7 years. Parkview offers a multi-sport that includes rugby along with other sports; classes are specifically designed for young age groups from 18 months to 6 years.

Moms and dads can get involved and volunteer to be a coach or referee! Rugby Clubs sponsor IRB coaching qualifications run by the HKRFU. You can also learn how to referee. If that is not your bag, the cheering crowd is always recruiting. There is something for the whole family!
Purchase rugby gear at Royal Sporting House, Giga Sports, and Escapade Sports. You can also find a great selection for the kids at supporting Rugby clubs, including Hong Kong Football Club. There is also Decathlon that will sort you out with a good selection of rugby gear.
