Experience an exciting weekend of discovery and fun at the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) Open Day, set to take place on the 23rd and 24th of March, 2024. This family-friendly event promises a unique educational adventure, perfect for children and adults alike, focusing on our ever-changing weather and the critical role we all play in climate action.
The HKO Open Day will illuminate the theme of World Meteorological Day, “At the frontline of climate action,” bringing attention to the importance of climate change awareness. Through engaging exhibits and interactive displays, you can learn about the advanced technology HKO uses for vital services such as weather forecasting, aviation weather services, detailed microclimate monitoring, and even radiation tracking.
Children can gain invaluable insights into the science of meteorology, understanding how weather affects us all and what we can do to protect our environment.
The HKO has arranged the event in various time slots available for pre-registration. Due to the popularity of the Open Day, in the event of an oversubscription, attendees will be selected through a fair computer balloting process.
You can apply now for your free ticket using this link until March 1, 2024. Successful applicants will receive their tickets by e-mail on or before March 12, 2024. Applicants may request a maximum of four tickets. Children aged 3 or younger may enter without a ticket when accompanied by an adult.
