Join the excitement at the annual “Lee Gardens Skateboard Fest 2023” happening on November 11-12 (Saturday and Sunday) at Lee Gardens! This event is perfect for families and skateboarding enthusiasts alike, as it brings together the thrill of skateboarding and the charm of street culture.
Watch as elite local and international athletes showcase their breathtaking skateboarding skills. This year, Lee Gardens is hosting three top Japanese skateboarders for the first time in Hong Kong. Funa Nakayama, Yumeka Oda, and Sora Shirai, all accomplished athletes, will be interacting closely with the public, providing a unique opportunity for fans to meet their skateboarding idols.
Witness the birth of the next generation of skateboarding stars at the professional skatepark, #UrbanPark. The skateboarding contest will feature famous local skateboarders competing for trophies. The competition follows international rules and will be judged by Chloé Bernard, an experienced judge from international events.
This year, the festival introduces men’s and women’s elite contests at #UrbanPark, showcasing the fearless power of the male skaters and the graceful skills of the female skaters. There’s even a special “Little Elite Skater Contest” for young skateboarders to showcase their skills and be cheered on by the crowd.
Over at Pak Sha Road, you can witness defying tricks, from jumping over a car obstacle that’s over 1.5 meters high as the top skateboarders push their limits to create a visual spectacle. You’ll witness incredible balance and control as they conquer a long, 8-meter skate rail and climb a 2.4-meter wallride quarter pipe.
There are also interactive skateboarding experiences for beginners, guided by professional instructors, and street culture workshops for everyone to enjoy. From DIY finger skateboard workshops to graffiti art tee workshops and grip tape art workshops, there’s something for everyone to get involved in.
Also, exciting news for sneaker enthusiasts! Converse will be opening its first concept store in Hong Kong at Hysan Place on November 11. Stay tuned for the latest updates on Converse’s Instagram page (@Converse_hongkong)!
