On October 18, 2025, the iconic Kai Tak Stadium, Kai Tak Sports Park, will host this unforgettable clash as Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand lead their star-studded teams in a thrilling match that promises to reignite the passion of English football fans.
This special edition of the classic “RED vs. RED” derby brings together Liverpool and Manchester United Legends in a celebration of skill, nostalgia, and the spirit of the game. This is your chance to witness football history in the making!
The Teams
Gerrard 11 (Red Legends):
Liverpool’s “Captain Fantastic,” Steven Gerrard, will lead a star-studded lineup, including teammates from the 2005 Miracle of Istanbul, such as Jerzy Dudek, Sami Hyypiä, John Arne Riise, and Luis Garcia. With over 500 appearances for Liverpool, Gerrard’s leadership and midfield dominance defined an era. This marks his first return to Hong Kong since retiring.
Rio 11 (Red Devils Legends):
Commanding Manchester United’s squad is Rio Ferdinand, one of the greatest defenders of his generation. Joining him are Nemanja Vidić, Dimitar Berbatov, Louis Saha, and Wes Brown, among others. Ferdinand, with six Premier League titles and a 2008 UEFA Champions League win, is set to mesmerize fans with his composure and technical prowess.
