While Niseko in the North of Japan may be better known for its powdery snow and winter mountain adventures, in summer its blue skies and lush greenery should be equally appealing, not to mention the famed fresh Hokkaido produce that bursts from its fertile grounds when the snow melts.
Summer: Summering in Niseko is a holiday not to be missed, and with Edventure Niseko’s fun-packed family camps, you’ll be returning to the stunning foothills of Mount Yotei year-on-year. Fresh mountain air and the great outdoors is the setting for overnight camping on the shores of Lake Toya, Amazing Race-style treasure hunts, farm excursions with berry-picking and cooking classes, fishing trips, hiking, biking and Japanese Taiko drumming classes – just some of the many activities on offer at EdVenture Niseko’s summer camps.
Winter: In addition, winter camps see kids build their own snow tobobbans, explore the back country, take part in a snow sports festival and build snow caves. Throughout these exciting immersive camps kids experience the great outdoors, build things with their own hands, learn where their food comes from, enjoy cultural immersion activities and interact with other children from around the world.
Edventure Niseko's camps are not just about the kids – there are plenty of family-centric activities including family orienteering challenges and raft building, as well as cultural barbecues, parents social tennis and golf tournaments. A range of kids-only activities give parents a break too, ensuring everyone has an enjoyable and memorable Niseko experience. For a truly effortless holiday, stay in the beautiful family accommodation also available through EdVenture Niseko.
Summer programmes target younger families with children aged between 3 and 12. Winter camps are suitable for children in half-day ski and snowboard lessons, offering half-day off-mountain activities that involve exploration and fun and games in the snowy back country.
Summer camps run from 20-24 June; 27 June-1 July; 4-8 July; 11-15 July and 18-22 July. Winter Camps run in February and March 2017.
