Singapore Changi Airport has officially reclaimed its crown as the World’s Best Airport for 2026, marking the 13th time it has topped the list! It’s a massive achievement, and a huge reason for that success is the attraction it offers to adults and kids alike. Whether you are a local looking for a weekend outing or a traveler trying to survive a long layover, you will find the best attractions for kids at Changi Airport in Singapore to wow every child. You don’t even need a flight ticket to enjoy it; you can visit the airport exactly like you would a theme park, and the theme here is just pure fun!
You might expect an airport to be pricey, but roughly half of the 21 best Jewel Changi Airport attractions for kids are absolutely free! Even if your flight lands at 3 AM, the airport never really sleeps. You’ll find 24/7 spots to explore, like free movie theaters in Terminals 2 and 3 and the spectacular 24-hour indoor Rain Vortex waterfall at Jewel. With the Skytrain connecting all the terminals, it is incredibly easy to move between terminals and go from dinosaurs and mazes to rock climbing or movie theatres. We’ve narrowed it down to the top 21 attractions, so whether you have a high-energy toddler or a bored teenager, accompanying kids to play won’t feel like a chore anymore!
Located right at the top of Jewel on Level 5, this huge indoor park is packed with things for kids to climb, jump on, and explore! Children can run through the Foggy Bowls, which are sunken grassy areas that pump out thick clouds of mist every few minutes so they can play hide-and-seek in the "clouds." For those at least 110cm tall, the Discovery Slides offer four different ways to whiz down from a 6.5-metre-high platform. You can also walk past life-sized animals like orangutans and elephants made of plants at the Topiary Walk or see seasonal flowers from around the world in the Petal Garden. There is even a nice family lounge with full nursing facilities and diaper-changing stations right next to the play areas, making it easy to stay for a few hours!
The HSBC Rain Vortex is the crown jewel of Jewel Changi Airport. It is a massive 40-metre waterfall that drops straight through a hole in the glass roof and crashes all the way into the basement! It creates a cool mist that keeps the air chilled while you watch from the terraces. Wrapping around the water is the Shiseido Forest Valley, a five-story indoor jungle where you can hike through 2,000 trees on winding trails that lead to the top floor. Kids will love watching the Skytrain (offers free ride!) zoom directly past the falling water, and you can even spot hidden lights tucked inside the trees. At night, the whole waterfall turns into a giant circular projection screen for a light show with music and neon colors. It is completely free to visit and has plenty of benches where you can sit and enjoy the view without needing a plane ticket!
This bridge is a 50-metre long walkway that hangs five stories high and puts you right in front of the giant waterfall! The middle part is made of clear glass, so you can look straight through your feet at the shops and people way down on the first floor. There are mist machines at both ends that blast out white fog, so it actually feels like you are walking amongst the cloud. It is the best spot for a family photo because you get a wide, high-up view of the whole indoor forest. Just head to the baggage storage first, because they won't let you bring strollers or wheeled bags onto the glass.
If you are a passenger in the transit area, you can play video games for as long as you want without using a single coin! Terminal 4 has an Entertainment Corner near Gate G18 where you can challenge your friends to classics like Pac-Man, Street Fighter, and virtual pinball. If you prefer moving around, Terminal 2’s Entertainment Deck features Xbox Kinect stations where you use your body to play sports like tennis and soccer. There are also plenty of consoles with PlayStation and Xbox 360 games, plus dedicated racing machines that let you get behind the wheel of a virtual car. These zones are open 24/7, so they are the perfect way for kids to pass the time during a layover!
Kids can walk directly over a pond filled with colorful koi on transparent glass platforms that make it feel like they are floating on the water! You can see the fish swimming right under your feet between shimmering aquatic plants and 18 massive evergreen structures holding 20,000 living plants. Above you, a giant digital ceiling reflects the real-time weather at the airport, showing sunny skies or rain based on what is happening outside. Every 15 minutes, the ceiling transforms for an immersive light and sound show where animated sea life swims across the sky. The area is filled with the calming sounds of over 100 unique creatures, making it a great spot to sit and watch the fish while you wait for your flight!
If your kids have too much energy, this is the place to put them! The Bouncing Net is a giant, 250-metre long trampoline web where you can jump 8 metres into the air while looking down at the airport terminal. If your kids are too small, you can try the Walking Net instead, which is a 50-metre long tight web that lets you stroll across a 25-metre drop. It’s heart-pounding because you can see the floor right through the mesh under your feet, but it’s completely enclosed and safe. It is a great workout and a fun way to see the building from a totally different perspective!
You can walk through a two-level tropical garden that houses over a thousand butterflies and a beautiful 6-metre tall waterfall! The garden trails are designed to put you right in the middle of the greenery, where you can find unique species like the carnivorous Pitcher Plant and colorful Egyptian Star Clusters. One of the coolest things to do is visit the breeding stations to see caterpillars and, if you're lucky, watch new butterflies break out of their cocoons in real-time. Since the garden is on the edge of the building, you can actually see massive airplanes on the tarmac through the mesh while butterflies flutter around you!
This is a massive digital playground where kids can play games that show how a world-class airport actually runs. You can compete in a multiplayer race called the Amazing Runway, where you pedal a stationary bike to see if a Boeing 747 can beat a Porsche 911 in a sprint. The studio also has a flight simulator where you can take the controls and fly an aircraft over Singapore's skyline! You can even try your hand at sorting luggage, directing taxis, or scanning bags for prohibited items in the 'Arena' to see if you have what it takes to run the world's best airport! It’s a great way for kids to learn about planes and technology while competing for high scores!
You can watch movies for free at Changi Airport whether you are flying or just visiting! For travelers, there is a dedicated 24-hour movie theater in the Terminal 3 transit area with about 50 plush seats showing everything from Superhero movies like Avengers 3 to Disney favorites. If you are not flying, head to ST3PS in Terminal 3 Basement 2 with your family; it has a massive ultra-HD screen and tiered seating where you can relax on bean bags and watch family hits like Kung Fu Panda or Jurassic World. You can even bring your own snacks from nearby shops while you watch.
Kids can finally play the 'Floor is Lava' for real in this massive room where the floor is made of glowing tiles. The goal is to leap onto blue tiles to score points while making sure nobody steps on the red "lava" tiles, or the team loses one of their five lives. There are difficulty settings specifically made for small children, so the game is fun and easy to follow for all ages. It is a great way for kids to burn off energy while they run, jump, and coordinate with their friends to reach the next level. Each room also has a wall bracket to hold your phone so you can film all the jumping and laughing!
If your kids loved the indoor dino playground at Terminal 3, they’ll want to see this outdoor version where the dinosaurs are huge! It has over 20 life-sized figures, including a towering 3.9-metre-tall T-Rex and a massive Brontosaurus. The path is designed to look like a park where the dinosaurs have broken out of their cages, with hidden speakers playing roars and safari music to make it feel real. Kids can climb inside giant cracked dinosaur eggs for photos or try to spot the baby Pterodactyls hidden in the trees. If the 1km walk is too long, you can rent bikes starting at SG$8/hour for kids at the Hub & Spoke pit stop nearby. Right next to the cafe, there is also a free playground called the Dino Nest Tower where kids can climb into a 5-metre-tall "nest" and zoom down a spiral slide! Since it’s open 24/7, the path is lit up at night with glowing animal footprints, making it a great spot to distract restless kids at night.
Think your kids can handle the mother of all airport slides? This massive mad-scientist 12-metre tube lets you scream your way down four storeys, reaching speeds of six metres per second from Level 1 all the way to Basement 3. If the big one looks too scary, there is a smaller, slower version at Basement 2 that is completely free for everyone to use. For the giant slide, you just need to be a Changi Rewards member and spend SG$10 at the airport to get 10 rides. Since the height limit goes up to 2 metres, you can even hop in yourself and race the kids to the bottom! It is a much more exciting way to get downstairs than the lift.
The rock climbing wall is located right beside the Slide@T3s landing point at Basement 3. This gym features an 8-metre wall with 20 routes from easy beginner routes to difficult 6c+ climbs, and an automatic safety system that slowly lowers kids down. For toddlers as young as two, there is a low boulder wall for climbing practice. You can book a guided hour with a professional to help kids with the basics, but you can also just pay for a "Climb & Play" slot and let them explore. Just make sure they have sneakers and sportswear ready so they can start climbing immediately!
Head to Basement 1 of Jewel and walk into Toys ”R” Us to find this aviation-themed playground! The space is packed with activities, including a giant funnel slide that drops right into a massive ball pit and a "Sky Range" for shooting foam balls at targets. One of the coolest details is a working conveyor belt system where kids can move soft-block "luggage" around just like at the check-in counters. There are also plenty of roleplay stations where they can pretend to be flight attendants serving meals or run their own mini-mart.
This dinosaur-themed playground is located in the public area, so you can drop in for a play session even if you aren't flying! The most unique feature is the pair of sandpits filled with smooth bead gravel—one even has a massive Triceratops skeleton buried inside for kids to excavate like real paleontologists. There is a huge role-play corner where children can dress up as police officers and drive a toy patrol car, or head over to the mechanic station to learn how to "fix" a car with toy tools. For kids who want to move, there are three-lane slides that lead into a ball pit, a volcano climbing wall, and small trampolines sized perfectly for younger children. Before you leave, kids can also take a ride on a life-sized dinosaur near the entrance for a small extra fee!
Tucked in the T4 Transit area, this giant red structure is a functional piece of art built from 10 kilometres of rope and 15 tonnes of steel! To get started, take a fast slide from the upper level directly to the base of the playground. From there, you can climb a spiralling rope ramp into a double-helix net that reaches toward the ceiling. When you're ready to descend, you can zip back to the ground using a series of fireman poles tucked inside the central core! It’s sturdy enough to hold 50 people, so adults are welcome to climb alongside the kids. Just remember to wear shoes and empty your pockets before you jump in!
If you’re exhausted from traveling and can’t bear the thought of chasing your kids around a loud, crowded play area, head to the Terminal 1 rooftop pool instead. It is a much more relaxing alternative to the busy ticketed parks. You can soak in the water, and actually unwind while the kids stay entertained, splashing in the water. The fee includes use of the heated jacuzzi (perfect for stiff muscles), plush towels, and clean shower facilities. If you didn't pack your gear, there’s even an “Oops” shop at the entrance to grab a swimsuit. It’s a total reset that leaves everyone feeling refreshed rather than even more tired.
Located right above the Dreamscape garden, this 24-hour area is perfect for you and your kids to burn off energy! The space is split into five colorful sections that offer different ways to move and shake off travel fatigue. Kids can jump on trampolines in the Yellow Zone that play music as they bounce, or navigate through the rope maze in the Blue Zone to test their agility. If you want to release some stress, the Orange Zone has soft pods you can punch, while the Pink Zone features levers that make light balls change color as you lift weights ranging from 2kg to 8kg. For those who just want to sit, the Green Zone has swinging pendulum chairs where you can hang out and watch the digital sky.
The Hedge Maze is a big living puzzle with walls made of plants and secret gates you can push to change the path! As you walk through, motion-sensor flowers will suddenly bloom or pop out to surprise you. Once you find the middle, you can climb up a circular watchtower to look down at everyone else still lost in the maze. Right next to it is the Mirror Maze, which is a trippy room of mirrors and hanging greenery that looks like it goes on forever. You get a foam stick to tap the air in front of you so you don't accidentally walk into your own reflection! It’s a fun, quick challenge that usually takes about 20 minutes to finish.
If your kids are obsessed with planes, the Viewing Malls are the best spots to watch massive aircraft taxi and take off. These galleries are located in the public areas, so you can visit even if you aren't flying! The best time to go is between 7:00 AM and 7:30 PM to avoid the glare of night-time window reflections. Each terminal offers a slightly different view of the runway action, and there is plenty of seating where you can sit back while the little ones stay glued to the glass.
Where to find them:
Terminal 1 (Level 3): This is the top pick for families because it actually has an indoor playground and kiddie rides right inside the gallery!
Terminal 3 (Level 4): This gallery offers a massive, elevated perspective of the airfield and is located near the Changi Experience Studio.
Terminal 4: A great spot to see a different side of the tarmac action away from the main terminal crowds.
Located in the T2 Transit area right by the giant windows overlooking the planes, this nature-themed playground is built around two massive grizzly bears. Kids can climb a ladder directly into the belly of the mother bear to explore, then take a slide out the other side to reach the ground! The area is designed like a meadow, featuring tall poles with yellow beehives and honeybees for kids to weave through. It’s a great spot for an imaginative adventure where they can pretend to hunt for honey while watching real aircraft taxi just outside.
