The well-loved Children’s Day festival, Octoburst! 2026, returns on Friday, October 2, 2026, with a packed line-up of exciting activities for kids of all ages! This year’s theme is “Stories” and introduces two new commissions–Dear Story Keeper and The Story Keeper’s Room–where kids are invited to write on the floor and experience music and movement, art-and-craft activities, and more!

Details On Octoburst! 2026:
- Who: Kids aged 12 and below. PIP’s Club is for kids aged 12 and below. Do note that school-only programs (Dear Story Keeper, PIP’s Arts Adventure) are not drop-in public sessions.
- When: The main public day is Friday, October 2, 2026 (Children’s Day). “A Universe In Sounds” continues Saturday and Sunday, October 3–4, 2026.
- Where: Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, 1 Esplanade Drive, Singapore 038981. Outdoor programs include the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre. Indoor play sits at PIP’s PLAYbox on Level 4.
- How to Join: Public programs are free with no registration needed. Sign up for free Esplanade&Me / PIP’s Club online or on-site to use PLAYbox, and redeem the festival booth gift.
THE SCOOP: What To Expect At Octoburst! 2026
- The Story Keeper’s Room: An interactive installation built from stories written by children across Singapore, plus a live session with the Story Keeper
- Meet the Joyful Voices!: A children’s choir opening the day with Disney and musical-theatre favorites, sung by kids for kids
- The Color-Your-Mood Flower Studio! with WahSoSimple: A craft workshop where kids can pick a feeling, pick a color, and craft a paper flower they can take home.
- Come and Play – Sports Day!: Active challenges designed to get kids moving! Think cones, games and easy challenges that will help little ones get the wiggles out before sitting for a show.
- Riff Raff Glitter Noise: Three roving musicians who turn whatever moves or sounds your kids offer into a shared jam
- From Page to Stage: Beloved children’s stories told with live narration, singing and music
- The Feelings Farm: Live in Concert!: Held at the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre, Ethel Yap, Shafiqhah Efandi, Nadya Zaheer and Marcus Cheong celebrate the soundtrack with composer Julian Wong at this free concert for kids.
- Groovers 645: A family dance-floor set timed so you can still make bedtime
- Hidden mini find: Pop-up storytelling and mass games by Tan Weiying and Cheryl Ho around the building, so you do not have to camp at one stage all day.
- A Universe In Sounds: On Saturday and Sunday, October 3–4, 2026, kids can experience an immersive Pangu soundscape with gentle movement.

Little Steps Tips:
- Nursing rooms are located on the Mezzanine (8am–9pm) and Level 4 outside PLAYbox (8am–6pm).
- Children's toilets on Level 4.
- Stroller parking is under the Level 4 staircase, but there are stroller-friendly routes throughout.
- PIP's PLAYbox on Level 4 is open 11am–6pm daily (closed 2pm–3pm for cleaning). Free for Esplanade&Me members. Kids up to 12 must be accompanied. Shoes off in the hideout, and no food is allowed inside.
- Easily access Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay via the direct underground link from Esplanade MRT, or walk from City Hall via CityLink.
