At German European School Singapore (GESS), nature isn’t an occasional field trip for the school’s littlest learners. Instead, it’s woven into everyday life through their certified Forest School Programme. Why not book a tour to find out more?
In a city like Singapore, giving children the chance to truly connect with nature is precious and essential to growing up grounded, curious and resilient.
Every week, their preschoolers swap the classroom for the Forest School Jungle Garden, a lush, purpose-built pocket of green right here on campus. Here, they dig in the soil, build dens from branches, spot insects in the insect hotel and discover the names of plants and creatures they meet along the way.
On multiple occasions, they venture further afield to the neighbouring Dairy Farm Nature Park, climbing, exploring and imagining as their confidence grows. Guided by their qualified Forest School Leader, James Fox, aka “Jungle James,” children build a relationship with the same trusted adult and the same special space across the whole school year, not just a one-off outing.
Every adventure is carefully supervised, so parents can relax knowing their little ones are safe while they explore and grow.
Forest school is just the beginning!
