Kayak, Treetop Walks, More At MacRitchie Reservoir Park
Kayak, stroll, picnic…yes, please! For a relaxing day out, head to greener pastures at MacRitchie Reservoir Park. So close to home, yet it feels a world away, this outing offers something for everyone!
The highlights:
• Rent a kayak! Cruise around the calm water by boat. Note, wee ones are allowed to sit in mom or dad’s lap and enjoy the adventure. Advanced kiddos can join a team and compete in races or join the Kayaking Orientation Program.
• Stroll on the path along the water’s edge. It’s perfect for strollers, scooters, and slow movers.
• Hike the many well-marked paths. More advanced hikers will enjoy the Treetop Walk! Click here for the trail map.
• Tree enthusiasts should check out the 90-minute guided tree walk on the last Saturday of the month (check the website to confirm dates). Learn all about the trees and botanical wonders!
• Bird watchers, bring your binoculars! There are loads of cheerful chirpers.
• Pack a picnic, pull out a blanket, and enjoy the green views and calming scenery! The kids will have a blast running around the green grass. There’s also a basic food kiosk to buy drinks and simple snacks.
