Does the tune “We’re going to the Zoo” leave you wanting more? Learn all about how the zoo works and how zookeepers keep everything ship-shape at Singapore Zoo’s one day Be a Junior Zookeeper program, held over school holidays throughout the year.
Mini-handlers get ready! Step into your very own zookeeper’s uniform, complete with a steady pair of boots, and get started in tending to the Zoo’s 4,000 animals. Get hands-on with creepy crawlies in the Insects & Invertebrates program to separate pupating mealworms from larvae and watch butterflies emerging from cocoons. Next head to Rainforest Kidzworld to learn how to groom and feed rabbits, hamsters and miniature horses.
Spend the rest of the afternoon observing animals and learning about the well being of zoo residents. Then meet up with the Zoo’s Enrichment Officers and create your own animal enrichment program to help ensure that animals stay happy and healthy for their lifetime.
