Hoorah! Term One is almost over and the March holidays are just around the corner! Little Steps has the scoop on the top family outings to keep your young’uns entertained, engaged, and recharged over the short break. Here are the top events happening in Singapore over the March holidays. Play on!

 

  • March-School-Holiday-Activities-Hello-Kitty-Gardens-By-The-Bay

    SAKURA FEAUTURING HELLO KITTY @ FLOWER DOME, GARDENS BY THE BAY (March 1 to 31, 2021)

    Can’t travel to Japan? No problem! Visit the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay this month to be amazed by how it’s transformed into a cherry blossom wonderland. Hello Kitty will also be part of the displays for the first time, guiding you along the walk through. Take plenty of pictures, try your hand at fabric wrapping and use the special sakura filters on Facebook and Instagram. Try to spot a life-sized topiary of Hello Kitty too!

    OTAH AND FRIENDS @ BAYFRONT PLAZA, GARDENS BY THE BAY (Now to April 4, 2021)

    This kid-friendly exhibition is now extended until April! Don’t miss out on catching this colorful otter-themed space, where you’ll follow Otah the otter’s adventures and try to spot him with the help of interactive actions and clues. Once you do so, there are treats like cookies and lemonade too! Groups of 5 pax can even book a private session for $60 so you have the space specially just for you and your crew.

    WORLD WATER DAY @ SCIENCE CENTRE (March 12 to 21, 2021)

    For a fun yet educational experience, bring your little one to Science Centre to learn all about water, in the spirit of World Water Day on 22 March. Kids can learn about the importance of water conversation and the water cycle through interactive activity booths like Floating Floaties where they can make their very own float and Pump It to learn about how pipes work. Visit the merchandise shop filled with science kits before you leave!

    BALLOONCY MIME COMEDY @ SANDS THEATRE, MARINA BAY SANDS (March 13 to 21, 2021)

    Recommended for kids between the ages of 2 and 6, Ballooncy is a 45-minute theatre show that will have you ticked pink with laughter throughout! The comedy show is a unique one-man show that has no dialogue, instead focusing on miming and clown actions to tell the story. If you and the family love Mr Bean, you’ll definitely enjoy this! Social distancing will be maintained as well – only 100 audience members will be allowed at one time.

    KIDS PLAY FREE @ SENTOSA (Now to March 31, 2021)

    March holidays is perfect for an outdoor break to experience the sun, the sea and the sand! Sentosa has free island admission all month, whether you’re entering by car, foot or the Sentosa Express. This means you can plan a perfect family day out to simply relax by the beach, or visit attractions like iFly Singapore, Madame Tussauds Singapore and Headrock VR.

    Be transported all the way to a galaxy far, far away with this brand new exhibition happening at ArtScience Museum. Even if you’re not the most diehard Star Wars fan, you and the family can still appreciate the interactive exhibition that showcases many artefacts, props and artworks from the film franchise. Dive deeper into the backstories of classic characters like Darth Vader and Princess Leia too, while also discovering more about yourself!

    WEEKEND PROGRAMS @ THE ARTGROUND (Weekends in March, 2021)

    From workshops to storytelling sessions, your weekends will never be dull at The Artground. Activities in March inclide Hats Off To You! - where you and your little one can create your own bucket hats using fabric scraps - and Baby Beat – a classical music performances of favorite children’s songs, among many others. Slots for each program are limited, so make sure to book your tickets early!

    MARCH ON 2021 @ ESPLANADE (March 10 to 14, 2021)

    Bring the kids down to the Esplanade for a fun-filled March holidays! March On 2021 is a new kids festival with both free and ticketed events to look forward to. One such event is Alice’s Topsy Turvy Tea Party – a ticketed dance performance for children aged 4 to 9 years old based on the classic story that will expand their imagination. Alternatively, look out for the bevy of free music performances, workshops and art installations over the 5 days as well!

    SPORTS HUB MULTI-ACTIVITY CAMP @ SINGAPORE SPORTS HUB (March 15 to 19, 2021)

    If your kid’s goal is to make use of the school holidays to get active, the Sports Hub Multi-Activity Camp will be the perfect way to do so! Spanning 5 days, the camp is suitable for kids aged between 3 to 12, and will train their minds and physical fitness through various activities, including soccer, rugby, cricket and dance.
