If you haven’t visited the latest pop-up café at Kumoya, it’s high time you should. Named the first Tokidoki café in the world, the space serves up character themed Italian-Japanese fusion dishes, complete with interiors adorned floor to ceiling in murals and decoration of the lifestyle brand’s kooky characters.
Once you’ve gotten accustomed to being surrounded in plush toys of characters such as Mermicorno, Unicorno and Punk Star, tuck in to the array of mouth-watering delights that await. The Moofia-Protected Pressed Sushi Rice (S$24.90) is a popular choice, thanks to its creative take on an Unagi Rice Bowl presented as sandwiches instead. The SANDy and Polpettina Full-of-Life Chicken Katsu Burger (S$23.90) is another hot favorite – no surprise considering the green buns that hold the katsu chicken patty together alongside the adorably pink custard pau, making the entire dish picture-worthy.
The desserts are equally impressive, with elaborate creations including the Unicorno Rainbow Magic Parfait (S$23.90) that looks delicately sweet to eat, but is an appropriate portion for smaller bites. Carefully prepared with heart-shaped jellys, cotton candy and rainbow swirl wafers, the dish will charm the younger ones instantly. The Dolce Pretty-In-Pink Berries Sponge Cake ($18.90) takes a slightly simpler approach with lesser add-ons, and makes a perfect personal birthday cake. Tokidoki Cafe is open until end-June, so hurry down and get your kawaii fix!
With the explosively colorful surroundings, Toki Doki truly brings patrons into a brand new world.
Kids of any age, and fans of character-themed cafes.
There’s a minimum spend of S$10 per person that visits, which isn’t difficult to achieve at all!
