POSITION:
The City Editor (Singapore) is a hands-on editorial role for someone curious, organised, and digitally savvy. You’ll lead Singapore content for Little Steps Asia: commissioning, writing, and editing content that serves families, optimises for SEO and engagement, and represents the brand at events. The role combines editorial oversight with content strategy, social/video production, and freelance management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Content & Editorial (55%)

• Oversee all Singapore editorial output: write, edit, and publish timely content, including reviews, guides, pillar content, and event coverage.  Be sure brand guidelines are met for all content.
• Ensure all copy is accurate, credible, and error-free with a strong focus on SEO and readability.
• Update legacy content for SEO and AI search where required.
• Produce daily  “hot off the press” content quickly and accurately when news or trends arise.
• Source and write event listings and monthly dine/events guide round-ups.
• Maintain and manage the Singapore editorial calendar (weekly, monthly, annual schedules).

SEO, Analytics & Content Strategy (20%)

• Monitor analytics and adjust content to maximise engagement and pageviews.
• Apply SEO best practices and maintain ongoing SEO/AI-search guidelines.
• Identify content opportunities and seasonal guide updates.

Social, Video & Brand Representation (15%)

• Manage daily social content for Singapore: post stories, film reels and support the marketing team on brand-aligned content.
• Produce ad-hoc videos and be comfortable appearing on camera.
• Represent Little Steps at media and PR events; develop relationships with PR contacts.

Project Management & Freelance (5%)

• Coordinate with sales/marketing teams on content requirements.
• Contribute to team meetings, brainstorms, and ad-hoc projects (awards, podcasts, video).
• Work with freelancers as required: sourcing, briefing, editing, and staying within budget.

Operational & Quality Control (5%)

• Oversee newsletter content related to Singapore and sign off on content during newsletter testing.
• Respond to local editorial and social inquiries.
• Draft marketing copy as needed.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

• Degree holder.
• 3+ years’ relevant experience; experience in digital media is a plus.
• Demonstrated editorial experience: excellent writing, editing and fact-checking skills.
• Strong prioritisation and time-management skills; ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Familiar with WordPress, SEO best practices, social media management and Canva.
• Good eye for image selection and visual presentation.
• Comfortable producing short-form video and social-native content.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, organised, and a strong team player with an outgoing, curious, and professional manner.
• Excellent spoken and written English.

Nice-to-have

• Existing connections to Singapore PR/media contacts.
• Experience working with SEO and AI content tools and optimising for AI search.
• Experience developing original lifestyle content
