Your Easter Guide To Macau

Easter In Macau

Macau is well known for its festive spirit. We feel that Easter unjustly gets less attention in terms of celebration than, say, Christmas, even though it is inherently celebratory and in arguably the loveliest time of the year! This Spring, Little Steps Macau has rounded up out these top Easter activities in Macau for you to enjoy, especially as a gourmand and as a parent watching their kids have fun in unique ways. Eat some treats, find some eggs, make some things and expand your spirit (and belly)!

  • PROCESSION OF THE SENHOR MORTO (March 30, 2018, 5:30pm)

The Procession of the Senhor Morto is held every year and is a beautiful way of commemorating this crucial and wonderful Catholic holiday Macao style. As Catholics join together to flow through the narrow streets of downtown Macao in a demonstration of devotion and gratefulness, others may join in along the way and share the love!

The procession begins at 5:30 at the CathedralAdmission is free. Bring your faith, or simply joy and love of celebrating with fellow humans! Find out a bit more here.

  • EASTER EGG HUNT & TAIPA VILLAGE DISCOVERY (March 31 to April 1, 2018)

Egg hunts are amazing because they give kids a specific goal and demand some real exploration and investigation skills, as well as some very serious fun-having. This free admission hunt also equips them with an Easter kit which includes maps, instructions, riddles, stamp to be collected, a pair of rabbit ears (most indispensable) and, of course, makes them get to know the neighborhood in the best way possible!

Enrollment: Taipa Village, Rua do Cunha, Pak Tai Temple Front, Macau, +853 2857 6118, www.taipavillagemacau.com/event/taipa-village-easter-festivity-fun/

  • GUESS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU – FAMILY PUPPETS WORKSHOP (March 13 to April 1, 2018)

Here is a really unique Easter experience: let your kid become a puppet master in a way that doesn't include arranging puppets in a very specific way or scattering them all around their room. Macao Cultural Centre puts Easter bunny into the spotlight and teaches you and your kiddo how to breathe life into him through games and workshops!

Take a peek at what awaits here. The show and workshops are intended for kids aged 3 to 6, but have specially adapted programs for those 3-4 at 11am to 12:30pm and at 5pm to 6:30 pm for those aged 5-6. Admission is $100.

  • EASTER KIDS CARNIVAL @ GRAND COLOANE RESORT (April 1, 5pm)

This is a wonderful Easter event equally dedicated to fun and charity. There are great dining options, Easter egg games, egg decorating and basket making workshops, as well as a Toys'R'Us drone competition, more arts & crafts and possible prizes! What we love the most, though, is the opportunity to adopt a pet with ANIMA and donate books and toys to Caritas Macau!
