It’s back! The 26th Macau Food Festival brings 17 days of open-air dining to Sai Van Lake Square. From Friday, November 20, 2026, to Sunday, December 6, 2026, about 150 local food and beverage businesses will set up stalls by the lake, right below Macau Tower.
The festival celebrates Macau’s mix of Chinese and Western cooking, with plenty of choice for both residents and visitors. Entry has traditionally been free, so you only pay for what you eat. Based on past years, hours are expected to be Monday-Thursday, 4pm-11pm, and Friday-Sunday, 3pm-midnight. Check the final times closer to the date.
The festival’s first days overlap with the Macau Grand Prix (Thursday, November 19–Sunday, November 22), so expect the opening weekend to be crowded. This year there’s also a new direct shuttle from Hengqin Port to Macau Tower that runs Friday through Sunday.

When is the Macau Food Festival 2026?
The 26th Macau Food Festival runs from Friday 20 November to Sunday 6 December 2026 at Sai Van Lake Square. Expected hours are Monday–Thursday 4pm–11pm and Friday–Sunday 3pm–midnight. Confirm final times closer to the date as they can vary slightly.
Is the Macau Food Festival free and suitable for families with kids?
Yes. Entry is traditionally free and you only pay for what you eat and drink. About 150 local eateries take part, so there is plenty of variety for all ages. The outdoor lakeside setting works well for families. A compact stroller is best on crowded weekend evenings, and temporary bathrooms are on site. Arrive earlier on Friday or Saturday for a quieter start.
Where is the Macau Food Festival held and how do I get there?
It is at Sai Van Lake Square (Praça do Lago Sai Van) right next to Macau Tower on the Macau Peninsula. Public buses stop at Macau Tower. A new direct shuttle runs non-stop from Hengqin Port to Macau Tower on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Temporary parking for over 200 vehicles is planned nearby, but public transport is safer during busy periods.
What kind of food can I expect at the Macau Food Festival?
All vendors are local, so expect Macanese classics such as minchi, pork-chop buns and egg tarts, plus Cantonese street snacks and Portuguese-influenced dishes. Prices are in patacas (MOP). Check which payment methods each stall accepts when you arrive. It feels more neighbourhood than international festival food.
Is it crowded during the Grand Prix and what should families know?
Yes. The opening weekend overlaps with the Macau Grand Prix (19–22 November), so expect extra traffic and bigger crowds. Take the Hengqin shuttle or a bus to the Macau Tower stop rather than driving. Bring a light layer for the evening breeze and take photos of the lit-up Macau Tower. For more family tips see the Best Things To Do In Macao With Kids guide.
