Founded by Tony Yong and Emil Jihad, this urban farming venture is located in the heart of Bandar Utama. Originally 1.6 acres of fertile ground that was used for managing rainwater, the patch of land has now transformed into a thriving green oasis with fishponds and pesticide-free veggies using hydroponic NFT technology, aquaponic systems, and good old-fashioned soil-based farming. Some of the greens grown here include Romaine, Butter Head, and a bunch of local favorites like Siew Bak Choy, Choi Sam, and Kailan. Utama Farm is all about promoting sustainable farming and clean eating, in fact, there are fishes and prawns here that you can catch and dine as there’s a steamboat restaurant on site for delicious seafood hotpot dinners, with some of the ingredients sourced from the farm itself.
What a fantastic space to learn all about sustainable farming, catch prawns and enjoy a sumptuous hot pot dinner to end the day! This all-in-one farm is a great place where urban folks can find pesticide-free vegetables, prawns, and fish.
Families, organizations, and just about anyone keen to see first-hand how sustainable farming can thrive in an urban location.
At an affordable price of only RM$35 per person, you can catch as many tiger prawns as you can within an hour. Extend the fun with 2 hours of fishing for just RM$65 or go all out with three hours for RM$95.
Fishing rods are provided as part of the fee while worms can be purchased as bait for RM$15. Prawning is available daily from 12pm to 1am.
