This is your one-stop shopping paradise in Jakarta. Come here for clothes, textiles and other garments. This is one of the biggest wholesale centers in Southeast Asia. Here you can buy clothing for the whole family, bags, shoes and much more. The more you buy, the cheaper it will be, so get ready to shop. Come in a morning and on a weekday if you want to avoid the weekend rush. The market is open daily from 9am to 5pm.
Pasar Tanah Abang, Jl. Kebon Jati, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta
This is one of the oldest shopping arcades in Jakarta. Here you can find clothes, shoes, textiles, electronics and more. If you’re looking for a tailor, this is one of the best markets. They are plentiful and so are the fabric options. The fabric quality is excellent here and so are the shoes too! Remember to haggle to get the best deal. The market is open from 10am to 8pm daily.
Pasar Baru, Jl. Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta
Come here if you want cheap clothes, shoes and accessories. There are many stalls selling cheap and cheerful finds. You can also buy wedding gifts, souvenirs, children's toys, cosmetics, school supplies and much more. Come early as this large market gets busy on the weekend. The market is open everyday from 10am to 5pm.
Pasar Asemka, Jl. Asemka, Pinangsia, West Jakarta
Fabric lovers, wannabe designers and little creators head here. The textiles and fabrics on offer here are simply amazing. They sell all sorts of fabrics with varying quality. You will be able to find, cotton, silk, Japanese printed cottons and linens, French lace, pure silk, rich brocades and many more fabrics. You’ll also see lots of bead, button and ribbon stalls, so stock up before heading home. Open from 6am to 12pm, this is a lovely market to explore in the air conditioning.

Shop here for all of your branded goods. It’s a famous market for fashion, souvenirs, accessories, shoes, handbags and luxury goods. Be sure to barter for the branded items and make sure you pay less than the actual store. Again, buy in bulk for greater discounts. The market is open from 10am to 6pm daily.
Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua, Jl. Mangga Dua Raya, Pademangan, North Jakarta
Come here for your weekly fish shop. This is one of the largest wholesale fish markets in Jakarta. You’ll find fresh fish at a cheap price. The more you buy the cheaper it becomes. Some vendors will also help you to cook the fish as well as descale and clean it up for you. As you can assume, it’s dirty, smelly and a bit noisy. Bring someone local with you who can barter for you.
Pasar Ikan Muara Angke, Jl. Pendaratan Udang, Muara Angke, North Jakarta
This is one of the largest flower markets in Jakarta. This central market sells a variety of flowers. Flowers will be cheaper than the local florist as they buy direct from the farmers. Here you will find varieties such as, roses, gerberas, asters, daisies, carnations, orchids, sunflowers, lotus flowers and pods, lilies, baby’s breath and many more. Some flowers are imported from other countries so be sure to check them out too.
Pasar Bunga Rawa Belong, Jl. Sulaiman, Kebun Jeruk, West Jakarta
This market is a foodie heaven. This traditional food market sells everything from, vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, fresh chicken, bean curd, soybean cake, dry goods and household items. It’s also open 24 hours, perfect if you’ve forgotten some last minute items. We recommend you come early to get the freshest produce.
