The Long Valley Nature Park in the New Territories has just officially opened and is a vibrant new addition to Hong Kong’s array of natural attractions. This park, covering approximately 37 hectares, is designed to promote biodiversity and provide educational opportunities for visitors of all ages. With its family-friendly features and stroller-accessible routes, it’s an ideal spot for families looking to explore nature together.
The park is divided into three distinct zones:
- Biodiversity Zone: Focused on core conservation efforts, this area is home to various wetland habitats that support a diverse range of wildlife, including critically endangered species such as the Yellow-breasted Bunting and Black-faced Spoonbill.
- Agriculture Zone: This section promotes eco-friendly farming practices, allowing visitors to learn about sustainable agriculture while enjoying the scenic views of cultivated fields.
- Visitor Zone: Designed with families in mind, this area includes facilities for educational activities and comfortable pathways that are mostly stroller-friendly, making it easy for parents to navigate with young children.
