Hong Kong Academy held a celebratory ceremony for its 11th graduating class this May. Despite their IB Diploma study years being disrupted by Covid, students were offered places at an impressive list of world-class universities including Ivy League colleges in the US and Russell Group universities in the UK.
Suhail Bindra, a class of 2013 graduate with a perfect 45 IB score who has recently returned to HKA as an alumni volunteer, says, “The traditions of the ceremony and the values of community, global citizenship and inclusion were clearly evident just like they were for my cohort. My IB Diploma was an important qualification that provided a stepping stone to where I am today. Nearly a decade after graduating, I regularly draw upon the skills, values and ideas that my education gave me.”
Balancing academic rigor with student wellbeing to ensure a supportive and joyful learning environment is at the core of HKA’s philosophy. The school’s unique educational programs are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive as thoughtful and successful global citizens who meaningfully contribute to their local and global communities. Students learn strategies and tools for emotional self-regulation and peer support, as well as how to comfortably seek additional guidance when needed.
This broad and balanced approach leads to successful student outcomes, and HKA students consistently outperform the world pass rate and average total IB Diploma points.
