St. Joseph’s Institution (SJI) International is hosting an Open House on February 27, 2021, for prospective Grade 7, 8, and 9 students. On the day, families will have the opportunity to find out more about the school and what makes it unique through the High School Faculty presentations. They will also be able to meet with fellow students as well as academic and pastoral staff.
Pre-registration is required and registration opens on February 5, 2021. Prospective parents can sign up for the event HERE.
SJI International has a Lasallian Catholic foundation, aiming to develop students who have a deep-seated motivation to help members of their communities and serve others. SJI International does this through a holistic, values-driven, and international education experience.
The school celebrates its diversity and welcomes families of all faiths and cultural backgrounds. It has a student body of 1,900 consisting of around 40 different nationalities. The school is co-educational, from Prep 1 to Grade 12, serving children ages 4 to 18 years.
SJI International features a world-class curriculum that incorporates the International Primary Curriculum and MOE Singapore Maths in the Elementary School; and IGCSE and the IB Diploma Program in the High School.
Students in Grades 7 and 8 are taught a diverse range of subjects by specialist and highly experienced teachers, giving them the tools to make smart decisions about their IGCSE options and, ultimately, the IB Diploma Program. IGCSE is begun as students reach Grade 9 - an international curriculum that broadens students' creative thinking abilities, enquiry, and problem-solving and prepares them to move into the next stage of their education.
This year's exciting development is that Design & Technology will now be offered as a subject for Grades 9 and 10. SJI International focuses just as much on character building as it does on academic learning and achievement.
Exhibiting an international modern-day Lasallian education, the learning experience is at the heart of everything SJI International does. Academic, service, co-curricular, and outdoor education are the four core elements that shape learning at the High School. These elements lead to the highest levels of personal growth and development by providing experiential opportunities for genuinely holistic education.
The school supports dozens of different service activities, including both local community events and overseason projects, and the students have access to over 100 CCAs. Students in Grades 7, 8, and 9 also participate in week-long expeditions where they are regularly encouraged to step outside their 'comfort zone,' build self-confidence, find creative new ways to overcome challenges and turn struggles into positive life experiences.
