The secret to WINGS’ success is the framework they follow: the Intensive Model of Therapy (IMOT) takes place in three-week to three-month blocks known as ‘intensives.’ Reminiscent of a bootcamp strategy, an intensive runs five days a week for two to four hours a day. Research has shown that a single intensive produces more results than an entire year of traditional therapy.

The center has helped many children with moderate to severe conditions, such as cerebral palsy and spinal muscular atrophy, who have never walked in their lives take their very first independent steps.

Help your child embrace a fuller life with WINGS Therapy & Learning Center!

    Groundbreaking Therapies

WINGS was started by a mother, Julia, and her special needs son, Jake, in 2017. Jake was diagnosed with an ultra-rare genetic mutation (NACC1), which affects Jake’s ability to walk, talk and live a life of independence. He was also born with congenital cataracts in both his eyes. By the time he was just four months old, he was having approximately 1,000 seizures a day and missed his initial milestones. It was then that Julia was told that her child might never walk, talk or gain independence.

This inspired Julia and Jake’s 10-year journey across the globe in search for solutions, and opened their eyes to breakthrough therapies not available in Asia, such as the Intensive Model of Therapy (IMOT) framework, Suit Therapy, Cuevas Medek Exercises and Dynamic Movement Intervention.

Knowing there were kids like Jake back home who deserved the chance to experience these treatments, they decided to sell all their belongings to start WINGS and bring these therapies to other kids in Southeast Asia.

    Welcoming Group Intervention Programs

In May 2024, WINGS also announced the introduction of group intervention programs that help parents implement exercises from WINGS’ signature therapies within the home environment.

The primary goal of this initiative is to empower parents and caregivers to provide support for their special ones with professionally-guided, high quality therapy from the comfort of their homes. Additionally, it aims to offer opportunities for parents who may not have the means for individual daily therapy sessions for their child to access high-quality physical rehabilitation.
