Batman 80th Anniversary Night Run

Themed runs have been happening for some time now, and the newest one will be the Batman Run Series. This November, you and your fellow Batman fans and running enthusiasts are going to get a special treat. Your favorite DC Comic caped crusader is celebrating his 80th anniversary this 2019! To help him celebrate, Batman Night Run is designed to appeal to people of all ages, thus kids as young as three can get in on the action.

“Born” in 1939, Batman was conceived by cartoonist Bob Kane in response to “National Comics” editor Vin Sullivan’s request for a new superhero so unique, he would look like no other. Kane succeeded, as every child will agree! By day, he was the bored socialite Bruce Wayne. By night, he donned his signature costume and swung into action as a dedicated crime-fighter ready to rid society of bad people. In his garage, a Batmobile stood ready to help him battle crooks and criminals and by the 1940s, he was joined by Robin the Wonder Boy who remains a trusted sidekick. You don’t have to be a crime stopper to be part of this event and no costume is required to participate in this run, though if you want to wear one, this would be an ideal way to show your devotion to this heroic legend.

While we’re sure many people will try to look as close to Batman as possible, do remember, most of the available Batman masks don’t breathe super well, so be prepared to stay hydrated throughout your run. We would recommend something more with an open back to it with an elastic band to keep it in place. Also, think about your fellow runners while picking a cape to wear. If it’s too long it could flap with the air and hit them in the faces. We know, Batman doesn’t consider these things, but would he?
