Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park has long been one of Hong Kong’s favorite parks by its residents, and for a good reason. The park covers an area of about 4.22 hectares, and the Park’s major facilities include one 7-a-side soccer pitch (artificial turf) and two basketball courts!
This piece of green is perfect for sunny days and comes complete with a harbor view. When it rains, take it inside to enjoy the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Center’s squash courts, public swimming pool, and changing rooms.
HISTORY ABOUT THE PARK:
Dr. Sun was deported out of Hong Kong by the British colonial government due to the pressure of the Qing Dynasty. Dr. Sun played a leading role in the Chinese revolution. After his many returns to the mainland, he could only meet his friends and supporters aboard a boat at the present location of Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park, and the park is named after Dr. Sun as a result and to commemorate his contribution as the father of modern China.
THE SCOOP:
Picnic, scooter, jog, and play…Sai Ying Pun’s waterfront oasis has been discovered.
A haven of family fun in a fabulous location (sea views included).
Families seeking outdoor picnics, scooter fun, and more.
