Calling all engineer wannabes! Koding Kingdom will be holding summer camps for kids from May 30 to August 26, 2016. There will be a series of engaging courses and games on coding, Minecraft and robotics to enhance kids’ digital literacy, interdisciplinary skills and overall intelligence. Here are some of Little Steps’ favorites.
Want your kids to learn about coding without having them gaze at the computer screen all the time? KK Coder Kids encourages your children to learn visually and apply virtually. The combination of plugged and unplugged content will give kids a comprehensive picture to basic coding. By the end of the semester, your kids will be able to make their very own animations, web apps and games!
Coding Courses KK Coder Junior aims to provide kids from the ages (7-11) with a solid foundation for coding. It comprises of 3 Levels and each Level covers 6 tracks. Level 1 introduces kids and focuses on building their Foundation. Level 2 uses knowledge acquired and channels it toward Application. Level 3 comprises of real challenges as your kids face KK coding Graduation.
For kids aged 11-15, the content, depth and coverage set out in the KK Coder Teens series is of greater difficulty - with more complex logic, advanced operations and varied applications. The course is designed to be taken in the order presented to ease kids into more and more complex programming concepts. For kids with relevant prior experience, tracks may be selectively chosen.
At Koding Kingdom, they use Minecraft as a gateway for kids to learn coding with our in-house educational platform. The Parent-Child workshop teaches beginners the basics of Minecraft - from crafting to character customization! The Minecraft: Newbies workshop is a great way for kids and parents to explore the realm of both Minecraft and potentially coding!
For seasoned coders looking for an additional challenge this summer, Koding Kingdom will be opening its KK Challenger Series that comprises of advanced tracks namely Java, Python, VEX Robotics, Information Literacy, JavaScript and Apple Swift. The courses are designed to provide an intuitive introduction and application for these powerful programming languages. They invite you to come and take the coding challenge!
