What free activities are there for families in Hong Kong on July 1?

July 1 Hong Kong Day brings tons of free fun! Enjoy free entry to Hong Kong Wetland Park, Science Museum, Space Museum, Museum of Art, plus M+ and Hong Kong Palace Museum exhibitions. Many LCSD sports facilities and pools are also free — perfect for a family day out.

Are there public transport discounts for kids on July 1 in Hong Kong?

Yes! Kids aged 3-11 ride MTR, Airport Express, Light Rail, and MTR Bus for free. Hong Kong Tramways are free July 1-3, and Star Ferry TST-Wan Chai route is free. Grab free ferry vouchers too for a fun family adventure across the harbor.

    • MTR Corporation: Children aged 3 to 11 can enjoy free rides on the Airport Express (until August 31, 2026!). On July 1, 2026, 71,000 domestic single-ride tickets (excluding select services) will be distributed via "MTR Mobile".

    • The Star Ferry: Free rides on TST - Wan Chai route on July 1, 2026.
