Get ready for 66 days of non-stop summer excitement as SummerFest@Central returns from May 30 to August 3, 2025, transforming the Central Harbourfront into a vibrant hub of art, culture, music, and sports — all with free admission for the whole family!
BAMBOOSCAPE: Bamboo as Art
The spotlight this year is on BAMBOOSCAPE, a stunning exhibition of six large bamboo installations co-created by top architects and artists from Hong Kong and beyond. From the poetic “Wind Rose” to the playful “Sushi Stool”, these structures blend tradition with modern design. Don’t miss the guided tours and interactive workshops, including a bamboo weaving session and a “Become a Sushi Sensei” workshop where families can craft sushi-inspired stools.
A Family Favorite: Balance Bike Championship
Returning on June 15, the Hong Kong Balance Bike Group Championship invites kids to race along the waterfront in one of SummerFest’s most beloved annual events. Free trials and gear make it the perfect day out for young riders and their families.
Dive In: Mermazing Summer Splash
On June 28–29, Central turns magical with the Mermazing Summer Splash. Expect water games, bubble zones, live music, and performances — it’s a mermaid dream come true for kids and adults alike.
Highlight: Become a Sushi Sensei for a Day!
One of this year’s can’t-miss experiences is the “Become a Sushi Sensei” Workshop by local design team HOUR 25. On June 1 (Sunday) from 11:30 AM to 1 PM, families and creative minds of all ages can craft their own mini sushi-themed stools and collaborate on weaving a bamboo rolling mat as a beautiful collective art piece.
Music, Dance & More
From the CHAMpionTeng1 Youth Singing Competition to Fiesta de Ballet, My Rhythm Playground, and Let’s Play Hong Kong!, SummerFest brings rhythm and joy to the harbourfront every weekend.
