VOA For Visiting Shenzhen!

Visa For Visiting Shenzhen, China

For those seeking to immerse themselves in the vibrant shopping and cultural scene of Shenzhen, China, there’s good news – you can obtain a 5-day visa right at the border (for those without a permit of Chinese Visa), making it accessible to visitors from countries like the United States and the United Kingdom. However, it’s important to note that this visa is limited to the Shenzhen region and does not grant access to the entirety of China.

With your 5-day visa in hand, you’re now ready to explore the vibrant Shenzhen shopping scene and immerse yourself in the city’s rich cultural heritage. Be sure to check updates often as they do change depending on which passport you have on you!  Also note – there is news on short-term travel permits as of July 2024 but you will need to see if you apply.

WHERE TO GO ONCE YOU ARRIVE IN SHENZHEN?

  • To begin your Shenzhen adventure, head to the Port Office, located just after you pass through the Hong Kong immigration checkpoint. Ascend the escalator before you reach the Chinese Immigration line, and once there, take a number and wait your turn. The process is straightforward – get your photo taken (free of charge) and fill out the Shenzhen visa application form provided.

WHO CAN GET A VOA?

  • Most European and developed countries are eligible for the five-day VOA, including the US, UK, Canada, France, Australia, Germany, Korea, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. This list can change so always check in advance!

WHAT TO BRING?

  • When preparing for your trip, be sure to bring your passport, and if you’re traveling with children, their birth certificates. While a digital birth certificate may suffice, it’s best to have the physical document on hand to avoid any potential issues.

WHEN TO GET THERE AND OPENING TIMES (Luohu Port)?

  • To make the most of your time, try to arrive at the Port Office before 8:30 AM, as the lines can quickly build up. The office is open from 9 AM to 5 PM daily, and the entire process can take approximately 1.5 hours. The cost for the 5-day visa is 130 RMB, and you can conveniently pay with a credit card, as cash is not accepted.
