Singapore’s Most Magical Playground Just Opened At Gardens By The Bay — And It Lights Up At Night!

Singapore’s First Family-Themed Destination Playground!

Propnex Family Zone Gardens by the Bay Playground Singapore
A Playground Wonderland Blooms in Singapore

Get ready to unleash your inner child—Singapore has just unveiled its first family-themed destination playground, and it’s an absolute showstopper. Nestled within the newly launched PropNex Family Zone at Gardens by the Bay, this playful paradise is more than just slides and swings. It’s a vibrant, inclusive space brimming with imagination, intergenerational bonding, and nine-metre Supertree-inspired towers that glow at night.

Officially launched on April 5, 2025 by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong and Minister of State Sun Xueling, this extraordinary playground is part of a nationwide push to prioritise families and community connection under the A Singapore Made for Families 2025 initiative. Built in collaboration with PropNex, Gardens by the Bay, Families for Life, Community Chest, and the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), this space is now the ultimate hangout for children, parents, and even grandparents.

What Makes This Playground So Special

Supertree Towers That Dazzle After Dark

Taking centre stage is a jaw-dropping pair of nine-metre-tall play towers, modelled after Gardens by the Bay’s iconic Supertrees. But these aren’t just for climbing—they come to life with synchronised light displays after sunset, transforming the playground into a magical night-time wonderland. The sandpit even lights up with creative projections, making evening playtime an unforgettable experience.

Meet Becky Bunny and Her Family

Singapore’s favourite mascot, Becky Bunny, takes on a starring role in the playground as a giant, climbable play structure complete with a slide. But she’s not alone—her whole multigenerational bunny family is part of the fun, making this not just a playground, but a lively storytelling space. Through interactive play, children learn core family values like love, care and concern, commitment, and respect.

Inclusive Design for All Abilities

This isn’t your typical playground—it’s been designed with inclusivity at its heart, offering a safe, enriching space for children of all ages and abilities. Whether it’s wheelchair-friendly paths or equipment that promotes cooperative play, everyone is included.

More Than Play: A Full Family Zone Experience

A Community Garden That Gives Back

Right next to the playground is an expanded edible Community Garden completely run by volunteers. The addition of raised planter beds and accessible walkways means everyone, including wheelchair users, can join in the fun of gardening. There’s even a sheltered pavilion for small-group workshops and activities.

An Event Lawn Made for Memories

The Event Lawn has been upgraded with well-drained turf, and a Community Stage is on the way in 2026. This space will soon host performances, programmes, and events—from parenting workshops to community concerts. Already, the space has witnessed around 900 wedding solemnizations, proving it’s not just kid-friendly—it’s romance-friendly too.

Wellness for All Ages

Wellness Friday: A New Monthly Must-Do

Launched just last month, Wellness Friday is a new monthly program focused on mental wellness and active ageing for seniors. Activities include therapeutic gardening and mental health talks, all hosted as part of the Gift of Gardens community outreach. It’s a heartwarming initiative bringing together different generations in meaningful ways.

Bonus: World-Class Art Comes to the Bay

As if that weren’t enough, DPM Gan also unveiled a spectacular new sculpture—Happy Life by Spanish artist Manolo Valdés. Donated by private individual Ms Lee Tuan, this vibrant, geometric piece joins an already stunning lineup of outdoor art, including:

  • Kei-Chan by Yayoi Kusama

  • Planet by Marc Quinn

  • Ethereal White Persians by Dale Chihuly

Now families can enjoy world-class art while having a day out in nature and play.

Location, Access and Future Plans

The PropNex Family Zone is located within walking distance from Bayfront MRT, and also accessible via the Gardens by the Bay shuttle service—so getting there is a breeze. In the coming months, families can expect even more inclusive community events, run by social service agencies and supported by Families for Life and Gardens by the Bay.

This destination playground isn’t just about slides and structures—it’s a whole new way for Singaporean families to connect, play, and thrive together!
