Esplanade – Singapore’s national performing arts centre. There’s so much to do and see here, from performances to workshops, tours, and special seasonal events for all ages. Here’s where you can get in touch with the arts and everything it offers. We’ve put together some events for you to check out!

  • The-Musical-Canvas-at-Esplanade-Singapore

    The Musical Canvas (Until October 29, 2021)

    Model student May has always been great at performing all her tasks at school well. But when her teacher asks her to create an artwork using just her imagination one day, she finds herself stuck. May later realises that she has a special ability – to experience sound and music visually. As she journeys to finish her painting, she meets characters who introduce her to different Chinese instruments and the role they play in an ensemble. Join may on her journey of discovery with colourful journey with captivating illustrations and audio recordings of the Chinese chamber ensemble!

    The Musical Canvas is co-produced by Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay and Ding Yi Music Company.

    Dissemination Everywhere! (October 8 to 16, 2021)



    Dissemination Everywhere! is disco that’s not quite what many are used to – it’s a silent disco that takes place in a wide and open area. You’ll enter a world, alone, but not alone, guided by the prompts, soundscapes and instructions from your headphones. Here’s a chance for you and your child to experience how the new reality has changed the way we live, as we safe distance, as well as enjoy music and dance in a whole new way. For ages 13 and above.
  • FULL OUT! ScRach vs MarcS (October 14 to 17, 2021)

    FULL OUT! returns for another showcase of street dance at da:ns festival! You’ll be treated to some captivating dance performances by some of Singapore’s best dancers from ScRach Marcs, as they have a “showdown” in a battle of styles, forms, and philosophies.

    and so we dance (October 17, 2021)

    The migrant community has been though a lot over the past year as the pandemic struck the world in full force. From the strict movement protocols, living conditions and strains on mental health, their struggles are oftentimes distant from many of us. This October, their conversations and stories are shared in and so we dance, a social project featuring migrant workers in collaboration with dance choreographer Dapheny Chen and community theatre practitioner Serena Ho. Using dance as a medium, the pair aims to shed light on the on the lives of the people behind Singapore’s largely invisible workforce, who are part of our community, as they navigate the impact of the pandemic.

  • Day Out@Esplanade: The Science of Art (November 16 to 18, 2021)

    At this half-day general arts exposure experience, young students will be brought around various venues at Esplanade. There, they will discover how art and science are inter-connected, through programs such as an interactive outdoor electronic music performance by Syndicate, a participatory tour of Esplanade Concert Hall and a guided visual arts tour led by youth docents.

  • Playtime-The-Noisy-Forest-At-Esplanade-Singapore

    PLAYtime! The Noisy Forest (December 24, 2021, to January 2, 2021)

    Music is everywhere, as long as you have imagination. Discover the music around you at this thrilling music-led exploration full of rousing beats and catchy tunes that your little ones will love. There, you will follow three explorers into the dark and mysterious magical forest, listening closely for the different rhythms and sounds that are found in nature as well as in our heartbeats. Clap along and create your own musical beats the explorers as they work as a team to uncover different exciting parts of the musical forest. Go on and discover new noises, sounds and music!!

  • GARAP Garage (December 24 and 25, 2021)

    Here’s where your imagination and ideas can come to life! Join in the fun at this interactive dance performance, where you will be invited to be a part of the performance, using your sounds and actions. See how you can be the music behind this dance performance! Interwoven with traditional Malay choreography and dance vocabulary, this performance will enrich your knowledge of the culture of our Malay friends.

  • A-Little-Love-Story-In-Singapore-At-Esplanade

    A Little Love Story In Singapore (Until January 22, 2022)

    As you walk along the Esplanade Tunnel, see artist Chiew Sien Kuan’s work as he creates a world that imagines and reinterprets the early years of modern Singapore’s development through a series of assemblages and mixed media paintings. Filled with imagination, humanity and adventure shaped by those who have made Singapore home, Chiew’s work shows another side of Singapore’s story.

  • Next-Generation-Civic-Bodies-At-Esplanade-Singapore

    Next Generation – Civic Bodies (October 8 to 31, 2021)

    Meet the dance talents of LASALLE College of the Arts as they present this dance film by local choreographers Dapheny Chen, Germaine Cheng, Pat Toh, Yarra Ileto and Melissa Quek! The film reflects LASALLE’s cosmopolitan and cutting-edge approach that produces performers who expand and challenge the boundaries of dance.
