Back by popular demand, Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) will be restaging Peter & Blue’s Birthday Party from July 2 – 5, 2015 at the Esplanade Theatre Studio. Created by SDT Artistic Director Janek Schergen, this hour-long children’s ballet production brings together meaningful morals in a time of fun and adventure.
On a sunny morning, Peter wakes to his long awaited birthday. Along with his dog Blue, and cat Calico, Peter invites all his friends from the forest to his birthday party. One by one, Peter’s friends arrive, each bearing a gift for Peter. The first to arrive were the Dragonflies, and the Apple Blossom Girls with the Blueberry Boys. Blue and Calico led the festivities with dancing and games, before ending the party with Peter’s birthday cake and farewell bids.
This charming, whimsical tale is just right for children ages 3 and up. Along with children’s activities, such as meet-the-characters, photo session, and balloon sculpting, this is a perfect family outing not to be missed!
