Interactive Exhibits & Games For The Whole Family

city gallery hong kong

When the rain clouds roll in, head to City Gallery, an incredible indoor attraction located in Central, Hong Kong. This free educational space is perfect for families, teens, and kids, offering a hands-on journey through the history and future of Hong Kong’s urban planning and development. It’s a great way to spend two hours exploring interactive exhibits spread across four floors. All exhibits are in English/Chinese.

Start at the Top: Floors 2, 3, and 4

Take the long escalator to the 4th floor and begin your immersive journey. These floors focus on Hong Kong’s urban development over the years, with exhibits that are especially captivating for teens and older kids. Learn about infrastructure, sustainability, and the innovative designs that have shaped the city’s skyline.

Perfect for Young Kids: 1st Floor

The 1st floor is a haven for preschoolers and elementary school kids, packed with interactive exhibits that combine education and fun:

  • Design Your Ideal City: Kids can plan their own city by strategically placing schools, medical facilities, and shopping centers near residential areas, learning the basics of urban planning.
  • SimCity-Style Game: A digital experience that lets kids experiment with city design concepts.
  • Hong Kong’s Flora and Fauna: An engaging exhibit showcasing the natural environment of the city.
  • Interactive Drawing Scanner: A crowd favorite! Kids can draw their own cars, motorbikes, or vehicles, upload their creations through a scanner (complete with their picture or face), and watch them come to life on a big screen displayed in a model city. It’s similar to the magical experiences at TeamLab exhibits and is sure to delight children and parents alike!

Once you’ve explored the gallery, stroll over to Hong Kong City Hall next door for a delicious dim sum meal. It’s the perfect way to round out a day of learning, creativity, and fun.

Opening Hours:
