Photographer Simon Lorenz gives your family photos, kids portraits and baby photos a unique twist by shooting them underwater. Whether you want a group shot of the kids, a picture of the whole family, a shot of your baby underwater – babies have an automatic reflex to hold their breath underwater and many feel comfortable putting their heads below the surface – or something a little more creative, there are a host of pool portrait possibilities.
Simon puts a fun twist on having your photograph taken and the results make for fun reminders and excellent talking points.
According to Simon most children can dive well enough for a pool portrait but it's best if they can hold their breath and open their eyes underwater as well as glide and move gently in a pool.
Shoots are best done in private pools or club pools, and both indoor and outdoor pools work well. If you don't have access to a pool, Simon is on hand to help you find one.
