Para Site in Hong Kong is partnering with Shanghai’s Rockbound Art Museum to put together a conceptually intriguing art exhibition called An Opera for Animals. The exhibition explores our transitioning view of the future: from rational thinking to amorphous fear.
The exhibition tackles the demise of Western opera as a living art form and its ever-present impact on the world around us: from spiritual work to social arrangements. They describe Opera as a part of colonial taxonomy that existed not only to entertain the wealthy but to celebrate the glory of imperialism and conquest.
An Opera for Animals will truly take you back in time and makes you consider the timeline that we have yet to create. This event is FREE, and it’s a great way to complement the Hong Kong art season that is going on at the moment. Bring the kids and the hubby for intriguing cultural activity!
