Hot off the press, huge blue whale arrives in the atrium of IFC Mall! A perfect chance to learn more about this massive and impressive beast with the children. Ocean life is wonderful but difficult to experience in the bustle of urban life. This month, you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful life-sized whale by visiting the IFC mall that is located in the center of the city.
The Wonders of the Ocean will feature a stunning 20-meter long blue whale replica staged in the Atrium for everyone to see. This installation is curated by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Hong Kong. In a time when the endangered blue whale is threatened by habitat loss, pollution and other factors, there’s a need for the kids to learn about the blue whale and its importance to our environment.
Here are the exhibits offered:
* Aquatic stories narrated by celebrity singer-actress and conservationist Karen Mok projected from speakers in the tentacles of wondrous floating jellyfish
* Blue whale footage and audio recordings shot by premier underwater filmmakers and photographers in Asia.
* Rare fossils of early ocean life and fascinating specimens brought from Canada and China to Hong Kong.
