This month, we traded our usual routine for sea views, sunshine, and a whole lot of family fun at Camp Montigo—a 3D2N camp designed for kids aged 6 to 12 at the beautiful Montigo Resorts in Nongsa, Batam.
This fun-filled camp will run from June 16 to 18, 2025 (Mon–Wed) and promises a magical mix of nature, culture, and creativity.
Little explorers will get to enjoy T-shirt tie-dyeing, mangrove adventures, a scavenger hunt, DIY pizza-making, Bahasa lessons, Camp ‘Olympics’, movie nights, and classic BBQ-and-campfire bonding.
Just a quick ferry ride from Singapore, it felt like stepping into a whole new world. While the kids had the time of their lives, we snuck in a bit of pampering, poolside lounging, and tropical calm. Here’s a look at each camp highlight, and why it totally won us over!

There’s just something about a campfire that wraps up the day perfectly.
After the sun went down on Day 1, we gathered for a BBQ feast followed by marshmallow roasting and camp songs around the fire.
The kids told stories, made s’mores, and created the kind of memories that'll last a lifetime.
Day 2 and after a sumptuous breakfast, the kids got their hands (and clothes!) dirty.
This was a vibrant and messy icebreaker that got everyone into creative mode!
The kids got to unleash their inner artist by twisting, dunking, and dyeing their own T-shirts. It was so fun watching them experiment with colours and patterns—plus, they loved seeing their creations come to life like a badge of honor.
Nothing brings out a little friendly competition like Camp Olympics!
The kids took part in mini-games, relays, and challenges designed to get them moving and giggling. It was the perfect mix of team spirit and silliness—with lots of high-fives and medal-worthy moments.
We were pleasantly surprised at how fun language learning could be!
Through games, songs, and role-playing, the kids picked up basic Bahasa phrases and got a taste of local culture.
It wasn’t school-ish at all—just light, engaging, and super interactive.
Who says latte art is just for grown-ups? This kid-friendly workshop swapped coffee for creamy hot chocolate and let little hands swirl, pour, and create their own cup of frothy fun!
With mini pitchers, fluffy milk foam, and lots of giggles, the kids learned simple designs (hearts! smiley faces!) while sipping their sweet creations. It was warm, messy, and absolutely adorable—like a barista party made just for them.
To us, this was the really one of the highlights! Think jungle adventure meets nature lesson.
The mangrove tour was led by a friendly guide who introduced the kids to local flora and fauna, crabs skittering across roots, and even how mangroves help the ecosystem. The kids absolutely loved the planting session, knowing that they are doing their itty-bitty part for the ecosystem.
It wasn’t just educational—it felt like a real-life Discovery Channel experience, minus the screens!
Aa night falls on Day 2, it was time to wind down. This was hands-down one of the coziest evenings of the camp. Think comfy bean bags, fairy lights twinkling above, and the soft hum of air-conditioning keeping things cool.
The kids snuggled into their spots, popcorn buckets in hand, eyes glued to the big screen as laughter filled the room. It felt like a private cinema party—complete with friends, snacks, and that magical movie-night buzz that brought everyone together.
What's a camp without some much-needed R&R in the pool! The Tiigo pool is absolutely glorious and the kids loved mucking around with their newfound friends. Not to mention, moms got some downtime too, sipping cocktails while dads had some one-on-one fun and games in the pool with the kiddos.
Ah ha! Day 3, but there's more!
It’s hard to beat food + fun, and this DIY Pizza-Making session was an absolute hit. Each child got to make their own pizza from scratch—kneading the dough, layering toppings, and watching it bake in the oven.
They were beyond proud of their edible masterpieces (and yes, some of the adults got in on the fun too, eating!)
We stayed in a spacious Two-Bedroom Villa (SG$888 nett for two adults and two kids), which included daily breakfast, round-trip ferry transfers, and even two 60-minute massages at the Montigo Spa (hello, bliss!).
There’s a one-time SG$150 nett enrolment fee for each additional child, and trust us—it’s worth it.
There’s also a sweet 10% discount on wellness, food, and recreation, and even a golf option if you want to sneak in a round at Palm Springs.
Camp Montigo ticked all the right boxes for us. The kids were constantly engaged, learning, and laughing, while we got a little slice of paradise ourselves. If you're looking for a fun, fuss-free mid-year getaway where the little ones can explore and make friends while you enjoy some grown-up downtime—this is it.
