At Level 1 of the Prep School, there is a flexible junior common room, with reading and playing board games, and a music school with performance space together with individual music practice rooms.
Level 2 is a large, open plan learning environment bustling with activity. Here, Year 2 to Year 5 classrooms are housed alongside specialist facilities, which include a top-of-the-range Science lab, and an Art Studio and a Maker Lab, where robotics, design projects and coding take place.
Prep children have access to a large all-weather outdoor sports field, indoor sports hall and 25m swimming pool as part of their PE lessons. Multiple outdoor spaces are available for our pupils to enjoy for play or relaxation during lunch and break times.
In line with their prep school values, Brighton College believes in sport for all. All children from Year 1 upwards receive coaching in the major school sports as part of the curriculum and will be given opportunities to compete against other schools according to their enjoyment and ability.
Children in Year 1 & 2 will receive 2 .5 hours of sports coaching during their school week, while children in Year 3 and above will receive 4 hours per week. For children with a particular talent in a specific sport, there are a number of options available to families.
The co-curricular activities (CCA) program begins in pre-prep school for children in Reception and Year 1. Activities include Art and Crafts, Science/STEM, Music, Drama, Dance and Language Clubs.
All children may access the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) program as individuals or joining a small group, for pleasure or to work towards LAMDA qualifications.
