When little ones face stubborn coughs, low immunity, restless sleep, picky eating, tummy troubles, or skin flare-ups, families can feel stuck in short-term fixes. Oriental Remedies Clinic takes a different approach, combining Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern technology for gentle, effective care that looks at the bigger picture, rather than only the latest symptom.
At the heart of the clinic are bilingual physicians, with many trained in both Biomedical Sciences and TCM, who create personalised treatment plans for each child. Their clear guidance helps parents feel informed, confident, and involved in their child’s care.
Paediatric offerings include gentle Tuina massage to boost immunity and digestion, paediatric moxibustion, and Cell Pro Therapy for children. These options are tailored to the child’s needs and designed to be gentle and child-considerate.
The clinic also offers tech-enhanced therapies such as Electro-Lymphatic Therapy (ELT) and Cell Pro Therapy (CPT) as non-invasive options that can complement TCM care, where suitable.
The Punggol outlet enhances this care with an open-concept, child-friendly setup developed in collaboration with House on the Hill Montessori, featuring a sensory-focused kids’ space with Montessori-style play materials. Visits can feel calmer and more engaging for children, while parents can stay close and involved throughout the experience. Herbal vaporiser therapy is also available at the Punggol outlet. While Punggol is the standout outlet for its child-friendly design, Oriental Remedies Clinic supports patients across life stages, including children, at all outlets.

Tuina ('Twee-nah') is a form a manipulative Chinese therapy which involve massage and cupping. Used in conjunction with other remedies, it can be an effective treatment. Tui Na is good for small infants and can be used to treat many conditions such as diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, influenza, asthma, and bronchial pneumonia.
Herbal prescriptions have been used for centuries. You need to place Chinese herbal medicines on a specific acupoint to achieve therapeutic effects. These prescriptions are usually made up of a combination of various herbs that not only boost the efficacy of the treatment but also minimize the side effects of certain herbs. Usually, each prescription ranges between a few herbs or even over 20 types of herbs.
Acupuncture for kids has been gaining popularity in recent years. Unlike the traditional methods, modern acupuncture treatments are usually painless and use non-needle treatment techniques, so even kiddos who fear needles will find the treatments less scary. Kids can get acupuncture treatments for allergies, asthma, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, common coughs and colds and even tummy aches.
We all know that diet is extremely important in preventing and treating common children's diseases. Most pediatric diseases can be either completely eliminated or markedly improved if a child's diet is modified. Dietary Therapy involves including food that improve specific health conditions while avoiding food that make it worse. Examples of types of therapeutic diets are those that eliminate gluten, sugars and also limit salt.
There are also other less common TCM modalities that occasionally used to treat certain ailments. These include herbal washes, creams, ointments, plasters, eye, ear and nose drops, inhalants, cupping, moxibustion and foot reflexology.

Have a healthy diet: Don’t consume too many foods and drinks which are bad for the digestive system such as cold drinks, spicy food, sugar, and fried food.
Sleep: Little ones need a lots of sleep, aim for 14 hours a day, including naptimes, for kids aged 3 and under.
Stay cool: Kids need to have exposure to some cold to help train their resistance to pathogens.
Soak in some sunshine: Kids need sun (but not too much), so make sure they play outside for at least 30 minutes a day. Avoid midday (between 10am to 4pm) when it's too hot.
